THE OBSERVER
The Observer is the award-winning student-run newspaper of Northern Essex Community College, which is located in Haverhill, MA. An editorial staff, comprised entirely of students, composes this bi-weekly publication, using pieces written by the editorial staff, contributing students and the occasional faculty member. The Observer is not censored by the institution's administration and seeks to both inform students and give students a platform where they can voice concerns.
I contributed to The Observer from 2009 to 2010 and served on the editorial board, as Copy Editor, in 2010. The Observer published more than twenty of my pieces, covering a broad spectrum of of topics.
In addition to contributing content to The Observer, I also edited all article submissions for spelling, grammar and AP style conformity. I edited completed pages for uniformity. The Observer provided me with an invaluable experiential learning experience.
