ABOUT ME
Since early childhood print journalism piqued my interest. I recall composing a household newspaper with my younger brother, in which we sensationalized the most mundane highlights of our household's happenings. My brother's interest faded, while mine remained. In school I performed well in my classes, excelling in the area that utilized my passion most--writing.
In 2011 I began a four-year journey through two institutions to hone my writing skills as a journalist. I attended Northern Essex Community College (NECC) for two years and obtained my associate's degree in Liberal Arts with a Journalism concentration. While attending NECC I contributed to their student-run paper, The Observer, and served as the publication's Copy Editor for my final two semesters. I graduated from NECC with high honors in 2010 and transferred to Salem State University to obtain my bachelor's in Communications. During my second semester I got involved with Salem State's student-run newspaper, The Salem State Log.
Initially, my job was to deliver 2500 papers to several on-campus and off-campus locations, however, in my final two semesters at the university I served as the newspaper's Editor-in-Chief. As Editor-in-Chief I was responsible for the overall production of the publication, including managing editorial staff, editing the pages for content and continuity, and organizing the publication's content.
I graduated from Salem State University in May 2013. Mere months after graduating I was hired by North of Boston Media Group, where I worked as a Design Editor for over three years. While in the employ of North of Boston I learned many tricks of the trade
